The creative process is based on seemingly contrasting worlds and perceptions, which fuels the creative expression of Marx, culminating in three distinct collections: the MIND, the BODY and the SOUL. The collections inspire to be bold, thought-provoking and true to herself.

The concept two-faced is inspired by her own identity, which is two-faced as well (corporate consulting versus creative artist). This theme closely connects embracing both vulnerability and strength, chaos and control. A world of constrast, yet beautifully whole.

Marjolein Marx works with acrylic paste, paint and ink, combined with gold leaf and paint. For the collection of The MIND, she also uses photographic and printed materials in her works.
